It is a dame fact that suffering, hope pleasure r the three figures. They come forward and play their role separately in life of every man as companions and comforts.
Suffering is the same name of pain, misery, torture, the curse of God which can be listened through the wail of mother for her lost child, through the cry of a sick, through the protest of an animal being tortured, through the chirp of harmless bird before being shot down by a hunts man or can be seen through the struggle of a homeless and suffering is the Vain struggle of a man against the inevitable fate.
As a matter of fate, life is not a bed of roses and suffering I like a thorn which pierces deep into the existence. It inflicts its pain on men in guise of hope and pleasure . its haunts them and attempts definitely to snatch from them the very role key of their existence. The hop that live in the heart of a men . those, who give up their heart to the greedy hands of the suffering cease ti exist but those who determinedly pledge to keep possession of hope gradually fight against suffering and to such an extent that its repeated attacks fail to arouse in them the slightest stir of hopelessness or fear.
Dew drops look very beautiful and glitter like pearls in the sun shine as if they r the ornaments of morning. But as the sun sets and darkness prevail over the universe, the same dew drops look like tears of the evening wrapped in morning clothes. Similarly, life remains full of happiness as long as one continues to cherish high hopes. But when life is without hope, it loses its attraction and becomes trouble some as S-T Coleridge says.
“ when no hope is, life is warning
that only serves to make us grieves”
some times, it seems that man is just like a puppet in hands of fate. The powerful, icy and untouchable hands of fate bring heinous un pleasant effect of suffering on man , his soul and his being. “ if winter comes, can spring be far behind “
according to P_B shelly, there is always hope for mankind. Whatever, suffering, worries and hardships, humanity may have to undergo, ultimately, this dark period will end. Like nature, when in the autumn, things r destroyed, the seeds for future growth r also sown, in the same moment even the most depressing period blossom forth at some future date.
Pain and torture r side by side with joy , if man must collect the blooming flower during happiness, he must also tread on the thorns of agony as john Keats points out:
“ she dwells with beauty, beauty that must die
and joy, whose hand is ever at his lips”
melancholy is an essential part of beauty because it is from beauty that melancholy is born . any thing which is beautiful and produce pleasure, must have a ting of melancholy in it. No doubt , the relationship of melancholy and beauty seems to be a paradox. Infect, nothing is delightful in its pure form without being mixed with sadness.
While defining tragedy, Aristotle writes that function of tragedy is to arouse the emotion of pity and fear .
Suffering broaden the views and outlook of a man and it is God’s way to put his people to a test. Suffering cant be denied or overlooked in human life . it is therefore, appropriate to conclude that the happiness, hope and even survival of man lie in fact that , he should also accept all the suffering along with hope and pleasure as part and parcel of life.
